AOC : Decree 4 February 2005.
Twenty years ago, Saint-Chinian initiated steps leading to the independent identification of one of its best terroirs : Roquebrun. On 4 February 2005 the INAO recognized it as a communal appellation for its red wines. Stretching over 400 hectares, vines for Saint-Chinian Roquebrun wines must be at east five years old; they flourish in mainly schist ground. Now a part of the AOC Languedoc family, Roquebrun wines are well rounded, with strong, complex aromas including hints of spice and fine tannins which explode in the mouth.
