The Vallée du Paradis Protected Geographic Indication (IGP) stretches over a territory of 12 municipalities traversed by La Berre. This valley is situated in the very heart of the Corbières mountain range, and it is separated from the Mediterranean Sea by a series of limestone mountains. Its enchanting character earned it the name “the Valley of Paradise” (le Vallée du Paradis).
The geological history of this sector gives an exceptional mineral beauty to the landscape. This region, populated from earliest antiquity, is crucially marked by agricultural and mining activities.
At the end of the 19th century, with the creation of a true network of roads, agriculture considerably evolved and the vine became the principal focus of culture. It’s the synergy between man and nature that draws more and more tourists to seek out environments both natural and built, both strong and protected. Oenotourism permits them, therefore, to discover the wines of the Vallée du Paradis, to contribute to their reputation and worth, and boost, in return, the necessary investments necessary to boost this original wine-making culture.
